Frequently asked questions

Everything about the Reef Dripper.

The chilled, automated dosing fridge for reef tanks and saltwater aquariums — answered.

What is the Reef Dripper?

The Reef Dripper is a compact, Wi-Fi connected dosing fridge built for reef tanks and saltwater aquariums. It keeps up to 7 fish foods and coral supplements chilled and doses them into your aquarium automatically, on a schedule you set from its online dashboard.

Which aquariums is it for?

It's designed for reef and marine aquariums of any size — from nano reef tanks to large mixed reefs. It works alongside your existing aquarium equipment: sump, skimmer, lights and return pump. Freshwater tanks that use liquid fertilizers or live foods can benefit from it too.

What can it dose?

Thick foods like thawed mysis shrimp, oyster eggs and brine shrimp, plus liquid supplements such as amino acids, beneficial bacteria and phytoplankton. A high-density configuration holds 3 × 500ml bottles for macro dosing and 4 × 100ml bottles for micro dosing.

How accurate is the dosing?

The dual precision pumps dose with 0.03ml accuracy, and the mechanism is designed to prevent cross-contamination between liquids. Thick and thin lines handle everything from watery supplements to dense coral foods.

Why does a dosing system need a fridge?

Organic additives — coral foods, phytoplankton, live bacteria, amino acids — spoil quickly at room temperature, especially inside a warm aquarium cabinet. The Reef Dripper's refrigerated section (0 to 5°C) and freezer (−5 to −20°C) keep everything fresh until the moment it's dosed, so your reef gets live, potent food instead of degraded liquid.

How do I control it?

From any browser. The online dashboard shows fridge and freezer temperatures, liquid levels for all 7 bottles, and your dosing schedules. You can run quick actions — dose now, prime, flush, deep clean, stir — or build automated dosing plans that spread a total amount across the week.

Does it need internet to work?

It connects to your home Wi-Fi to sync schedules and report status. Your programmed routines live on the device, so dosing continues even if your internet drops; it catches up with the dashboard when the connection returns.

Where does it go?

It's compact enough to fit inside a standard sump cabinet, right under your tank, alongside the rest of your reef equipment. A signature LED status ring gives you instant visual feedback without opening the cabinet.

How do I set it up?

Plug it in, connect it to Wi-Fi, and register it on the dashboard with the device token that comes in the box. Your account is linked to your unit, and you can add more devices later if you run more than one tank.
